Best Florida Auto Insurance — Tips You Can’t Overlook

by Chimezirim Odimba

With the right tips, more affordable Florida car insurance rates will be yours to choose from. Here are a few you cannot afford to miss…

1. You’ll reduce your Florida auto insurance premium if you have an outstanding credit rating. A poor credit history will cost you in higher car insurance rates. The simple reason for this is that there is a general consensus among most insurance carriers that there is a link between bad credit histories and high risks. This means more danger to them and higher premiums for you.

2. Take it upon yourself to ask your agent about all the discounts available to you with your present Florida insurer. Since agents too are human they might forget to tell you about some discounts you are eligible for. You will reduce the probability of this happening to you if you make it a point of duty to ask your agent point blank to tell you about every discount that is possible. You might be in for a very pleasant surprise!

3. It is profitable to be loyal to the same Florida insurer. You will get discounts of up to five percent on your auto insurance if you remain with the same insurer for up to three years. The more you stay with the same insurer, the more the discount you’ll attract.

But in spite of the fact that it is a decent way to save, you may save much more if you forget about this discount and go over to another insurance company….

Say, for example, that your Florida auto insurance premium with your current insurer is $2,500 you’ll get a discount of about 5 percent or $125 if you continue for at least three years.

But while you are at it, an insurer somewhere may be prepared to offer a rate of $2,000 or less within that period. Then it would be anything but wisdom to stay put because you want to qualify for a discount down the road knowing that the expected discount is less than savings you will get now if you change to another insurer.

But believe it or not, most people can pay far less with another insurer if they will only make out time to shop extensively.. You can only know if this is true for your profile if you obtain and compare quotes from a good number of auto insurance carriers to see where your interest is better served.
