The Cheapest Auto Insurance Quote May Not Necessarily Be The Best
The feeling of find very affordable car insurance quotes (Lower than industry average by a huge margin) is great. But aren’t there things you should be wary of in such very low quotes? Let’s take a brief look at what you must look for before signing the dotted lines…
1. You must make sure you’re dealing with an insurer that has an excellent rating. That is unless you never intend to make a claim even when you need to. Some companies are notorious for how difficult they make it for policyholders who file even very legitimate claims.
Too many complaints against an insurer is a bad sign. Although all insurers have some complaints against them; run, if the ratio of complaints is too high — Moreso if many of them are unresolved. Also check at how quickly each case was resolved.
And to avoid been a victim of insurance fraud, ensure you’re buying from a licensed insurance company. Every state deparment of insurance has a record of every insurer that is licensed to sell auto insurance in the state.
2. Have you checked what their deductibles are? Some insurers could, by default, have very high deductibles while offering super low rates. Are you comfortable with their deductibles? If you’re NOT then you can pass off the offer and look for another.
3. There is a given number of years after which an insurer clears your record of traffic violations or accidents. If you’re NOT the “greatest” of drivers, you may want to ensure your insurer does this after fewer years.
How does this policy check against the things we’ve listed above? If the policy does fine against all these then you have a great quote.
Along with the things suggested above, make sure you have a clear understanding of what’s covered by your policy and what’s NOT. Do this before buying any policy and you’ll save yourself needless tears.
