a great new addition to iracing

but does any one alse feel that the steering is abit strange?

  2. krutkrut67 says:

just drove it and love it!!

  3. martinw89 says:

That’s exactly my point. That doesn’t sound anything like this teaser. The real thing is much more guttural and violent, this is just like a 3000RPM recording done in neutral sped up and slowed down to fit what the car’s doing.

And I don’t know if you’ve seen it in person but it’s almost impossible to forget :)

  4. PolariceSwiss says:

planes if its not important details? amazing trees but no leaves at the track, laguna seca no sand, we can choose tyres (soft, medium, hard) you said “bunch of motionless lowpoly models surrounding the car”, how about ours?, you drive over ghost cones, watch this: /watch?v=KO7Kq-hxHp4&feature=related and this: /watch?v=gJKZiUgSO6s and tell me if GT5 have the same Physics as Iracing does which one will you choose?, DETAILS makes the difference, and I love Iracing but it can be better.

  5. PolariceSwiss says:

its not comparing the quality of Iracing with others, its about “Details”, Look gloves, if they ask any for partnership, they will be happy to promote its product within a 34+k sim racers+ Daytona at night its very hard to drive, bcuz we have just low lights, Pits, a guy who cant even hold a stick, crew without legs if u watch carefully, Road tracks without Safety car, no weather, how can u Simulate rain, snow, here is ppl who really needs to simulate that as well, so why we have birds and

  6. PolariceSwiss says:

Yes they have improve a lot, but a lot, only think you will need its an really nice video card to have the ebst performance, the sim experience its at its best out there, nothing can be compare yet with Iracing quality.

  7. CuttingEdgeDigitalTV says:

Where is the “Buy it now” button? I want it yesterday.

  8. hendor79 says:

Remember that the camera used for the interior shot may still use the external sound…

  9. Saieno86 says:

@PolariceSwiss I’ve seen footage of rFactor 2′s ‘pit crew’, which is a bunch of motionless lowpoly models surrounding the car. Your claim that GTR3 and Project CARS are as well is simply not true. If they did it would be a horrible waste of resources. In terms of iRacing I would love to see dynamic weather, such as temperature, wind, weather, track dust and debris, etc. This actually adds to the racing, while pit crews are already statistically simulated.

  10. Blackout690 says:

BTW – if iRacing ever gets the engine sounds dialed down pat (they need work IMO), then the simulation experience would almost be overwhelming! lol. would be nice to see an accurage physical damage model too, but that is a ton of work

  11. Blackout690 says:

wow, has iRacing been working on improving the graphics? it looks much better in this video than I remember it when i was a member several months back

  12. PolariceSwiss says:

but they can do, there is not excuse for that, rfactor 2 is doing it, GTR3 is doing it, Project CARS are doing it, and these are almost as good in physics like Iracing, not all of them.

  13. TheEmaine says:

    What about the RUF?

  14. Saieno86 says:

Sounds pretty authentic to me, but trying to remember from a year ago can be tough. Here’s a video to help remind you of the sounds a CTS-V makes. watch?v=RaxPYDxA4hg

  15. Saieno86 says:

You do understand that for pit crew animations to exist they would need to motion capture pit maneuvers for specific tire changing, vehicle adjustments, body repairs, and refueling, all while procedural adjusting to the position of the players car and the cars around them. Not to mention all of these same animations would need to be recorded for EVERY vehicle type in the simulator. For example, you’d have to render 500 crew members in F1 races and 252 crew members in NASCAR races. Good luck.

  16. Saieno86 says:

I don’t know about you, but while I’m racing I don’t have the gloves or wheel enabled. In replays the gloves look how they should, except on specific cams such as the roll-bar cam. Also why the request for Low & High lights? In actual night races there are regulations to prevent dazzling drivers during close night racing, with colored lights helping reduce glare and also designate class of vehicle.

  17. Saieno86 says:

I think they are fine. For me personally I would rather the audio muted a bit to simulate earplugs, especially since the vehicle is exceptionally loud.

  18. 420Honey says:

Can you be a bit more specific about the shortfalls of iRacing and add some value? I mean if you just don’t like it, thats cool, but tell us what you don’t like. I like the game and have built up a good list of buddies. I appreciate it for what it is and the effort put in. Do the other sims give away 10 000 for pro series, pcs, racing cockpits etc and scan tracks? Im not a fanboy, but iRacingh is nothing the sneaze at either.

  19. iRacingTV says:

    Yes, you will

  20. iRacingTV says:

Sorry, the car is not finished yet. Still needs some details finished.

  21. TheVistaro says:

Great work! Looking forward to the end product.

  22. Ijustwatchfunnycrap says:

    +1

  23. martinw89 says:

Ugh. I saw the CTS-V race car at St. Pete last year and it sounds nothing like this. This sounds like a eunuch version.

I was just practicing for this week’s Skippy track (Suzuka, woo!), and I’d be lying if I didn’t really enjoy the service or said that I’m not coming back. But iRacing has had some of the most sterile, untrue-to-the-real-thing sounds I’ve heard in any racing game or sim. Gran Turismo is up there though.

  24. Rcrby525 says:

and no, i am not saying iRacing sucks, i’m just saying it’s another sim in a list of great sims already out.

  25. Rcrby525 says:

    FANBOY ALERT
both sims are good, part of being in sim racing is appreciating all forms of sims, iRacing is not the end-all-be-all of sim racing, you got a bunch of sims comming out in the comming months.

you have to try all flavors before you hate the drink, if you will.
