Chrysler PT Cruiser Knowledge and Interior

Chrysler first launched the Chrysler PT Cruiser in the late 1999 as Sedan/ hatchback,the PT Cruiser is a front-wheel drive 5-passenger vehicle. This is a compact automobile with a retro style. The PT Cruiser was originally conceived as a Plymouth model. In the early 2005 this was launched as coupe/ convertible. Bryan Nesbitt designed this car. He was also the designer of Chevrolet HHR. The Chrysler PT Cruiser was originally a Plymouth model but after introduction it got the name plate Chrysler due to the anticipation of Plymouth brand discontinuation in the year 2001. The name PT has the initialize PT which stands for the designation of car’s platform and the production code. The Plymouth Trucks of the 1930 lines is also a contribution for this name. The production of convertible model was ceased officially on December 21 2007. The last convertibles of 2007 were sold in the market as 2008 models.

The discontinuation of the model was announced by the Chrysler LLC with the Cerberus capital management as investor on January 12 2009. It was reorganized as the New Chrysler on July 6 2009. The plans were changed in the discontinuation of the model and specified that only for the Mexican and Canadian markets this would be so. This Legacy model may be called for discontinuation under the management of Fiat. The production of this car commenced in the year 2000.This car was originally manufactured by Daimler Chrysler from the year 2001-2007.The manufacturing of Chrysler PT Cruiser 2005 onwards was undertaken by Chrysler LLC. From the year 2009 it was done by Chrysler Group LLC. It belongs to the compact class of cars.

It may be of two body styles one with 2 door convertible the other 5 door station wagon /hatchback. Its transmission may be of 5 speeds Getrag manual or 4 speed 41 TE automatic. It has a wheelbase of 103 inches. The length of this car was 168.8 inches till the year 2005 but in 2006 it was changed to 168.9 inches with a width of 67.1 inches. The height of this car is 63 inches. The curb weight of the car is 3123 lb and has got a fuel capacity of 15 US Gallons. This car is basically designed for the purpose of 5 passenger usage.
