Do Car Auctions Sell Damaged Cars
Sure they do. You will find anything in brick and mortar car auctions, from full throttle cars to un-driveable junks. Some even make profit from things other want to get rid of. Some take junks and turn then into gold, by totally re-facing they aspect and mechanical systems. Others simply don’t have a lot of money and want a car for driving around, and can’t afford more than a damaged car.
Because so many buyers are interested in damaged cars, auction holders ended up organizing specialized auctions for these car types. The damaged car auctions occur pretty often, because not all cars sell so quickly and many people prefer selling a damaged car rather than repairing it. Instead they sell it in such an auction and then buy a new one. It’s needless to say that damaged cars are very low priced, and sometimes the reparation can cost 100$ only, returning a good final price, way below car real value.
Don’t be tempted to go to such an auction just because you heard that prices are really low. Be sure of your purpose, and decide what you will be doing with a damaged car. If you have mechanical skills, that’s a good enough reason. Being a car salesman is also a pretty good reason. But the normal person, that wants a car for driving, what can that person do with a damaged car? If you can answer this question, and make a detailed plan of how to repair it and what defects you can cope with, then you can go head and make a purchase at a damaged cars auction.
Make sure you know what you’re bidding on in brick and mortar car auctions. Do check parked vehicles before damaged car auctions starts. You should try to enter the vehicle after checking the exterior parts. Once inside check for heavy smells, deformed chairs and moist or rust, these all are sign of flood damage. It’s not recommended to buy such a car unless you are prepared to change almost everything about it. Cars that do not run should be checked by a specialized mechanic to try and evaluate the engine damage.Or you could properly inform yourself about common engine problems and try to evaluate them yourself.
