When You Get Into an Accident

Getting into a car accident is something that almost all of us will have to experience at some point in our lives. It isn’t one of those situations where you look around at other people and think to yourself, “Gee, that will never happen to me…” Rather, it is one of those situations where you wonder when you are going to get into one and what the consequences will be.

Quad Bike Accidents

Honda built the first three-wheel all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in 1970. Also referred to as a quad bike or quad, these were popular right from the start. Low pressure tires, a straddled seat and handle bars seemed the perfect way to fly over terrain where street vehicles could never go.

It didn’t take long for accidents to begin happening with young fearless riders pushing speeds as high as 100 mph over unfamiliar land in an effort to see how many stunts they could perform. As a result, in the early 1980s, the suspension was improved and tires were made at a lower profile. Wrecks and injuries continued to mount so in 1987, three wheelers were no longer manufactured in an effort to provide more safety for quad bikes.

Motor Sports Worst Accident

The 24 Hour LeMans is one of the largest and most famous endurance sports car races in the world. It is also one of the oldest that is still operating. The idea of an around the clock drive was conceived as a test of the reliability and endurance of man and machine to maintain a continuous high speed for twenty-four hours over a challenging course. It is an annual event held near LeMans in France. While accidents are common at motor races, none have equalled the horrific incident that occurred at the 1955 event. Two factors are of primary importance in an auto race – the skill of the driver and the quality of the car.

Keeping Your Teen From Accidents

Your teenager just got their license and they are very excited to get behind the wheel. It is your responsibility to make sure that they have the right attitude and maturity before allowing them to do that. They’re going to be in control of over a ton moving metal and you need to make sure that they are responsible.

Drum it into their heads that they always need to wear their safety belt. The moment they get into the driver’s seat, they need to put their belt on. No ifs, ands, or buts. They also need to understand that while driving, they should never be on the cell phone.
