‘Iron wok’

posted in Daves Blog |
Just found myself on the OICA website tracking down some data for a colleague. I've come across an interesting table that shows employment in the vehicle production and components industry across countries. Who leads that one? China - and by a whopping margin. Labour costs there may be low in international terms - but there are still plenty of bods working on the lines. That's the way it is in China and that's one reason the authorities like to keep control of JVs involving foreign companies and manage the industry as far as they can.
