Make Sure Your Guests Haven’t Partied Too Hard to Drive

posted in Featured |
(ARA) – The next time you put on a party, be a responsible host. Ask your guests to take a breathalyzer test before they get behind the wheel.

They may think you’re kidding, but assure them you are serious. More than a million people are arrested for drunk driving every year, and it’s a costly mistake. Not only does getting caught driving drunk put you in danger of losing your driver’s license, it gives you a permanent criminal record, and can be very costly monetarily. Offenders typically have to spend upwards of $5,000 to cover fines, court costs and attorneys fees, not to mention increased insurance premiums.

You may be thinking to yourself, “There’s no way I’d get behind the wheel drunk, so I have nothing to worry about.” But for some people, one drink is all it takes.

“Police officers aren’t the only ones who can carry breathalyzers. They’re also available to responsible people who want to use them as tools for personal monitoring,” says Matthew Son, president of AK Solutions, LLC USA. His company manufactures the AlcoMate Prestige and AlcoMate Plus personal breathalyzers that use patent pending replaceable modules instead of calibration, which other brands require, to get accurate results. “The modules can be easily swapped out by the consumer, thus saving time and money, and prolonging the life of the breathalyzer,” says Son.

Both models that are certified by the FDA, approved by the DOT, ISO 9002 certified and meet the requirements of the US Coast Guard’s recent mandate to have breathalyzers aboard every merchant marine vessel in U.S. waters.

All you have to do to use them is turn the device on, blow sharply and steadily into it, then wait a few moments for the analysis to be done and the person’s blood alcohol percentage to flash on the screen. Click here for more information about how the devices work.

Make Sure Your Guests Haven't Partied Too Hard to DriveIf, after blowing into the device, the guest’s blood alcohol level is higher than .08 percent, it’s recommended that you request them to wait a while longer before driving. “You may even want to ask them to wait if it’s as low as .05 because it has been actively shown that there is a greatly increased risk of impairment at that level as well. Most people are very cordial about it and will actually thank you for showing you care about their well being,” says Son, who points out that a lot of parents get these for their kids when they start driving because they want to make sure they won’t drink and drive.

AK Solutions’ personal breathalyzers with replaceable modules are so accurate, they are used by many law enforcement agencies and hospitals across the country. They are also available direct to the public through the manufacturer’s Web site: www.personalalcoholtester.com. Pick one up today so you can enjoy your next party without having to worry.
