At present, people have started complaining on the skyrocketing gas price and are finding difficult to pay for it.

The introduction of gas discount cards acted as a boon for auto users, as they have made them to purchase auto fuel at an affordable price. Certainly, this is also a good way to save some dollars toward your auto monthly budget. But, the main question is where to get these types of credit cards?

Ideal Ways to Get Discount Gas Cards:

You can simply browse the Internet to find these types of cards, since the Internet has plenty of information regarding these cards such as their providers, availability and rates. In addition, you will find many web sites on the Internet that show how much money you can save by these cards. Indeed, a few miles can create big difference, when it comes to fuel price per gallon.

When you come across any web site offering such discount cards, do not apply for it immediately. First, pay heed to the terms and conditions of such cards and then ask local auto fuel retailers about the validity of such cards at their fuel stations.

Some fuel stations even offer cheaper fuel cards, when a customer buys such cards through their membership fees. To fill up your vehicle at these fuel stations, just buy membership plans from them. At times, these membership plans compensate you in the long-term in the form of savings.

The ideal way to save on fuel is to buy gas credit cards. Numerous credit card companies offer such credit cards to help save some dollars on fuel purchase. Rebate credit cards for fuel allow you to save around 5% per gallon. Even though, this may seem a bit little, but adds to huge savings in the long run.

Other Ways:

If you stay in a central locality, where fuel price is expensive, change your fuel filling station. Ensure that fuel prices in your neighborhood areas are within the set budget, before filling up your vehicle’s tank. It is wise to visit some poorer areas for buying fuel. The idea to target poorer areas is to find those areas having cheaper fuel prices due to less property tax and other excises.

When it comes to fuel savings, make use of your imagination. Below are some fruitful ways to save on fuel:

1.Local fuel price wars, in which, owners of various fuel stations compete with one another by reducing fuel prices at their respective fuel stations.

2.Cash only at those fuel stations, where you can purchase fuel at an affordable price. However, for this, you need to be a regular customer and all your payments at such a fuel station needs to be in cash.

3.Another ideal way is to look for coupons. At times, several auto fuel stations offer coupons to buy fuel at cheaper rate.

To sum up, there are plenty of ways to save on gasoline and to avoid paying heftily to fill your tank.

How to save gas is the biggest topic today. And gas saving devices are seemingly in every corner of the world. Devices that convert water into fuel incorporate several techniques that help to improve fuel economy. The first and foremost is the Electrolyzer. How does it work, and just how much HHO or Hydroxy can the Electrolyzer produce?

To begin we need to understand how an optimized Electrolyzer works. This typically requires a working knowledge of several disciplines: Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, And Mechanical Engineering. Electrolyzers make hydrogen by passing an electric current through water containing an electrolyte. The Electrolyzer has the potential to lower the cost of producing hydrogen energy through the water electrolysis process. For example, General Electric researchers have built and tested an Electrolyzer big enough to make a kilogram of hydrogen per hour. Within the next five to ten years, Electrolyzers could serve as the foundation for future hydrogen vehicle refueling stations. The key however, is an optimized Electrolyzer, which splits out the hydrogen in a way that doesn’t require massive amounts of electrical current.

So then how much HHO can typical water for gas Electrolyzer’s produce? It’s low. Maybe 1.5 liters. I have discovered however, that it’s not the huge amount of HHO, but a clever implementation of the system. The small Hydrogen atoms ram onto the gas particles making them smaller and thus more efficient in the combustion process. Of coarse HHO or Hydroxy itself very flammable and will also aid in improving your fuel economy. But the important thing to consider is the interaction of the HHO and the gasoline mist that is in the combustion chamber. It is like putting a needle to a balloon. It only takes a trigger, not a brutal force, to enhance the performance of gasoline.

Ozzy Freedom a fellow experimenter conducted some experiments and discovered the following: “In my car the one jar with 3 amps was enough to give me over 52 MPG average, which is 72% gain in fuel economy. The six-cell arrangement (6 jars) was taking only 6.6 amps, so it couldn’t have been much more HHO than the one (maybe double), and it got me to over 61 MPG, or 107% gain. So I doubled the mileage with a tiny little bit of HHO”. “The 6 cell isn’t just low amps. It is also very low maintenance - I drove 4 months without touching it, and I could go 6 or more months if I had to”.

In my next experiment I’m going to make a High Yield Electrolyzer. This will require rewinding the Electrolyzer tower so that the coils are double density or only about 1/4″ or 6 mm apart. I am working with another electrolyte as well, Sodium Hydroxide. This aids in producing more HHO than Baking Soda and is safer for the wires in the Electrolyzer. I will also experiment with Sodium Citrate, which is as safe as baking soda (used in ice cream). My goal is to double or triple my mileage, while at the same time getting the complete Electrolyzer set to draw less than 20 amps.

So really then, any one can achieve good results with very-low-cost homemade items. You just have to do your due diligence and then build it.

Mustang motorcycle seats are made for many different types of motorcycles including Harley Davidson motorcycles as well as many import bikes like Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and the new emerging American brand Victory. All Mustang products are made in the USA. This company has been making quality saddles and passenger seats since 1980. Many different types of seats are available as well as sissy bar pads or backrests. Most cycle seats these days are not made with leather but a look alike vinyl cover or synthetic leather, however these motorcycle seats are made to look like seats made from genuine leather. For example the Regal Duke is made with a custom pillow styled seat cover that is made to look like leather. Sissy bar pads to match are also available. This company is also very active in the motorcycle community by attending many of the bigger bike shows like Biketoberfest, Sturgis and Bike Week.

Buying a car, whether new or used, online options can be a great way to save money, time, and find a fantastic deal. Unfortunately, it can also be an easy way to fall prey to potential scams and problems that an in-person evaluation might otherwise catch.

If you’re planning to purchase a car online, keep reading for 4 great consumer protection tips that will help you make your purchase both hassle free and save you money.

1. If Buying New, Understand All the Costs

While customizing a brand new car online can be fun and seem exciting, you’ll often pay a lot more than the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) when ordering a new car directly from the manufacturer.

For example, let’s say you go into a dealership and buy a new model car right off the sales floor without any factory customization or specifications. You can often negotiate a price that’s lower than the MSRP, and you’ll save big on factory delivery fees. Meanwhile, ordering a customized car online and then having it shipped to the dealership could cost you thousands of extra dollars.

All-in-all, the additional expenses of online customization may be worth it to you, but you should at least be aware this is what you are facing.

2. Understand Border Restrictions

If you’re buying a used car online and it’s going to be crossing over a country border, understand before making a transaction that you’re going to have to pay and deal with customs. You can hire independent customs brokers that will handle all your paperwork and fees, but their services come at a premium.

Try a website like MyBorderPro.com that will calculate all the estimated duty, tax and shipping costs associated with moving a car from one country to yours.

3. Factor In Shipping Costs

Most online car purchases need to be shipped or freighted to their destination. If you live in Oregon, for example, think about the associated shipping costs before you buy that car in Virginia. A good deal may not be so sweet once you add on $500 in freight costs.

One viable option to counter some of the shipping costs (if you can afford the time) is to make the trip yourself. Either purchase a one-way flight to the automobile’s location or drive there with a trusted family member or friend and both of you can drive each vehicle back home.

4. Understand Your Auction Options

Before you buy a car through an online auction, make sure you understand all the terms associated with making that bid. For example, eBay offers up to $50,000 in protection against certain types of fraud, but only in specific situations.

In those cases, you are protected if

* the car is never delivered

* the car is stolen

* there is a lien against the car

* the VIN or actual vehicle is not the same as described

* the seller did not provide a title or registration

* the car was not disclosed as being salvaged or flood damaged and was discovered to be a salvaged vehicle

* there is an odometer discrepancy of more than 5,000 miles, or

* the vehicle needs repairs that were not disclosed and total more than $1000.

by Hillary Clear

Yes, there is such as thing as a water powered auto. Over the years, new solutions have been designed and implemented whereby water is used for energy. In addition to saving a lot of money on the high price of gas, there is also the benefit of helping to cut back on air pollution.

The cost of fuel is so high that most people cannot afford to buy. Because of this, people are trying desperately to find alternatives. Researchers have announced that an auto can be converted so it runs on water and not gas.

To run a car on gas, you would not simply fill the tank with h20. However, a number of programs and solutions are available whereby the car can be converted so water becomes the main source of fuel. Although fuel is still used, the h20 increases gas mileage and helps the car run better.

To switch your car over so it can run on water, you should understand the system. Using what is called electrolysis water is used in a way that works. With this, a small vessel filled with water that is connected to your car battery.

Using electricity from the car battery, the water powered car is capable of converting water into what is called HHO, or brown gas/oxy hydrogen. Then, the HHO works as a team with the fuel whereby you would get more power and a huge increase in fuel mileage.

If you want to consider a water fueled car, you will find that you end up with a 20% to 60% savings on gas mileage. Before you run out and decide this is the right solution for you, it is important to understand the benefits. First, you can actually do the work yourself by using a conversion kit.

Many people have changed the car to run on water using a hydrogen generator. Using instructions provided, you would know exactly the way to install the system. These kits are sold online or through special companies and using standard tools, the installation can begin so you have a water powered fuel cell.

To do the installation for a water powered vehicle yourself, you will find the process is not difficult and the benefits huge. To purchase a regular converter, there is a higher expense but if you buy a kit and do the work on your own, the savings is much greater. This means a savings not only for the kit but also the services of a professional mechanic.

The thing to remember is that there is no system that can make a car run on water alone. In fact, the makers of these programs are not to replace fuel but to use water to enhance it. Of course, while everyone will see positive results from a water powered vehicle, every brand will have different results.

Every car is going to see different results. One car might get as much as 30% savings while others get 50%. Regardless, the benefits of creating a water fueled car are worth the time and effort it takes to switch over.

There are numerous developers of conversion kits, one that has thousands of satisfied customers. Because of the benefits, to run a car on water is becoming more and more popular. With this alternative, you are no longer trapped in the world of high gas costs but you can switch and enjoy savings while also doing your share in a cleaner environment.

I absolutely love driving. I think those four words probably sum me up best and there are very few occasions when that fact is ever in doubt. Unless a white van is involved I rarely get agitated with other road users. Speed humps are annoying but rather than get angry and drive over them at 100mph and slice my car in two, I’m happy to tip-toe over them. Having said this, there is one motoring phenomenon that seems to be ever growing that I quite simply cannot cope with – the traffic jam. Spending more and more of your time sitting in a pool of your own sweat frantically trying not to overuse the clutch as you edge forward at one mile and hour is not an enjoyable experience.

There was one occasion where I lost my mind completely and it’ll come as no surprise the city of London was involved. Having driven for six hours, I was now lost in a suburb somewhere that flirted with the congestion charge but managed to skirt around the five pound boundary. Brixton was my intended destination but even the road signs were shrugging their shoulders saying “dunno you silly Welshman”. The icing on the cake hit after nine hours – no I’m not exaggerating. Reaching a t-junction that turned onto a 70mph intersection the traffic lights weren’t working. I stopped as the lights were red – a stupid decision apparently as I was met with an audible squeal of tires behind me as a bunch of cockneys skidded inches away from me. After much horn pressing, swearing and seemingly no break in the 70mph traffic I did the only thing I could – closed my eyes, welded my foot to the floor and repented for my sins. Somehow I made it and when I got lost and ended up at the same junction again it seemed far easier the second time over.

Imagine my surprise then when I spoke to a friend who’d recently been to Japan which was already gridlocked 15 years ago. Amazingly the roads nowadays are near-clear at all times of the day. The reason being that unless you own a parking space you can only buy a car with an engine no larger than 660cc and shorter than 11ft 2in long – hence very few avoid one or the other stipulation as modern cars are constantly growing in size from their predecessors.

If the Japanese can’t make the most of their motoring products, I implore you to not miss the boat. A trip to your Honda dealer will have you greeted by plenty of metal, all of which is over 11ft 2inches and doesn’t matter one bit. After all, there are only 58 models on the market that fall into Japan’s stringent categorising system, the Suzuki Wagon R being the best selling with 250,000 per year being shifted. The problem is that to maximise interior space, exterior styling has to be compromised or abandoned altogether. Therefore there are no tapered windscreens, long bonnets or spacious boots, just vehicular creations that look like washing machines.

Your Honda dealer however can offer you the S2000 which is small but also has style in abundance, 240bhp and a soft top to catch the couple of day’s sun we have every few years. Oh and it’s a bone fide sports car. First appearing in 1999, the S2000 has remained largely unchanged which is testament to its subtle styling than appeals to everyone, whether it’s the gaping front grill for the aggressive styling purist or the cheeky rear to curvy enthusiasts.

To start the engine, a large red button greets you, helpfully saying ‘engine start’ to avoid confusion. I can’t think of a better way to signal the racing potential of the S2000. In typical Honda fashion, the VTEC engine revs all the way to 9,000rpm and with 240bhp wrung from just 2.0 litres of naturally aspirated engine, you can even get 30 miles to the gallon if you drive carefully.

Given the car’s handling though, you’d be a fool not to give it a good run through the countryside, top down on a sunny Sunday afternoon. For a measure of how good the handling is, nip into any racing circuit open to the public and I guarantee there’ll be an S2000 or two being gleefully flung around.

The boring stuff such as boot space and servicing are also favourable, making the S2000 a very practical everyday car that when unleashed will leave you grinning like a loon for days. If you find yourself taking a wrong turn in London never fear, you won’t sweat all over your leather upholstery either – the S2000 has air conditioning as standard.

Kaje Delur is an automotive author currently working to promote the Bristol Honda a Bristol based Honda dealer. Bristol Honda have been enjoying a great deal of success recently due to the strong marketing of the Honda brand.

My email inbox has been inundated recently. Whether it’s been American pharmaceutical companies offering out-of-the-blue, to increase the size of certain areas of my body (how’d they know?) or one man pretending to be a large banking corporation so he can steal all my money to buy a new anorak, invariably my mail is useless drivel.

There was a highlight this week however with the announcement of the new Ford Focus RS. I was treated to some exclusive pictures of the eagerly anticipated model and can confirm my jaw had to be prised off the floor after half an hour. Once again, Ford has gone with a garish colour scheme like the orange-clad ST, this time breaking out a pot of lime green paint. Despite this slight eye-jerker, you can expect the used Ford market to be inundated with the Focus ST, as the RS promises to be exceptional.

In-keeping with Renault’s F1 inspired Clio, the RS features a rear diffuser, bonnet air vents and more bulges than a queue outside a donut sale. From every angle the RS looks menacing yet functional, a point confirmed by the car’s interior. Hardcore Recaro racing seats adorn the cabin, going hand in hand with the usual Ford refinements such as air-conditioning and satellite navigation – a perfect microcosm of the RS as a whole. Ford racing purists are getting sweatier palms by the second.

The excitement of the new Focus RS has evoked many nostalgic Ford fans to reminisce about the last truly earth-shattering hot Ford – the Escort Cosworth - arguably the greatest used Ford of them all. As with the latest Focus RS, Ford on occasion feel the need to break free from their production line of commuter mobiles and build a mad car.

Many see the Escort Cosworth as Ford’s crowning glory and an example of sheer brutality that has never been bettered. The standard Escort at that time was an prime exhibit of the Ford motor company of old, as it was quite simply a bit rubbish. The idea of buying a used Ford in the early nineties meant a heap of reliability trouble, a bucket-load of rust and a particularly clinical drive once you got it working.

Despite this uninspiring platform, Ford had faith that it could rescue the Escort brand. Having already manufactured the Sierra Cosworth, the 500 and Sapphire 4×4 to great acclaim from petrol heads and with the Sierra making way for the new Mondeo, the Escort was the only model yet to be fitted with rockets under the bonnet. On paper the prospect didn’t look too tantalising: the old Sierra undersides mated to a modified Escort body spelled disaster. Yet it proved to be a match made in heaven and despite its rough foundations, the Escort Cosworth was a hit.

Stylistically it was instantly recognisable, not because of the familiar Escort shape - the identical headlights or rear end, but for the gigantic rear wing that seemingly defied gravity as it protruded horizontally for ten miles from the rear windscreen. Clearly this was a boy’s car for grown men to fall in love with. The rear wing actually increased drag so much it took 12mph off the car’s top speed, which was not an inconsiderable 138mph. The upside of this, in addition to making the car an instant icon, was that the Escort Cosworth was the first production car to produce negative lift, as the car was being constantly pressed to the road as if by a giant hand from above.

It gave the car’s owners a big dilemma – the faster you went the better the car handled as it was pushed into the ground, yet the slower you went the more people could stop and stare at the car. Large wheels and huge wheel arches gave the whole car the air of a rallying stallion, with the air vents on the bonnet giving the engine a much needed source of oxygen. All this pomp and circumstance did have one drawback – everyone wanted one. Therefore keeping your Cossie safe required your insurance company to place it into their top insurance bracket of 20 – the same as a Ferrari no less.

In many ways, despite the performance, styling and hefty insurance costs, it retained its identity of being an Escort, whilst shedding the many poor aspects of the base model it was built on. Because the heart of the Cosworth was just a working class Escort, it became an everyday car with an everyman price tag – it just happened to have 227bhp and the ability to out-manoeuvre a Porsche.

As used Ford cars become more and more popular, Kevin Creese has been working to promote the used Ford range at Sandicliffe one of the top Ford dealers in the UK.

How many accessories have you added to your car so far? How much have you spent for it? Big bucks, probably. Car accessories don’t come cheap these days. In fact they are so expensive that buying a fully loaded car with all the best accessories in tow costs twice as much with a car that only comes with the basics. If you want to jazz up your car to make it look cool and modern, here are good suggestions on what you should invest on:

1. Automatic alarm and security system

Never park your car out in the open without the necessary alarm system. Newer cars already come with this feature. Older cars, on the other hand, may not. You can also choose to upgrade your existing car security system to the latest version. To find out more about it, you might want to check with your dealer. Installing a new alarm system may require electrical wiring works. However, there are some kits that are very easy to install, even by novice car enthusiasts.

2. GPS system

With the GPS system, you won’t need a map for the rest of your life. This system would show you the road you are in, including the names of the streets within the area. It would also show your current location or position. So if you can’t read maps, there’s still hope for you. Have this system installed in your dashboard and you would never be lost in an unfamiliar place ever again.

3. An advanced entertainment system

Nowadays, you can watch movies, your favorite TV show, and the music videos of the artists you like right inside your car. Look for the trendiest entertainment system for cars from electronic dealers. Gone were the days that cars only have radios to boast about. Now, you can experience total media entertainment even on the go with just a few clicks of the button. This is how advanced technology had gone these days.

4. Body detailing

For those who believe that the looks of a car is everything, a good body detailing work is essential. Highlight your car’s cool features by dressing it up with paints, stickers, and the works. It is also possible to change your lights, side mirrors, and everything else that can be seen from the outside to make it look more attractive. If you want to make heads turn as you speed by, look for a talented auto detailer and have your car adorned.

5. Novelty horn

If there’s anything fun to change about your car, it is going to be the horn. There are different types and sounds of horns available from car parts dealer these days. The more unique your horn is, the better it is. Take your pick. There are horns that emulate the sound of a gun or a big raging beast on the race track. Just make sure that you don’t overdo it though. Be careful with your choice as well. It is best that you choose something that complements the make and look of your car.

There are quite a number of car rental companies these days. While you can simply go inside one and rent a car, there are some things that you should know so that you’ll end up with a good deal from them. Rental companies do have rules and requirements before releasing the car to you. And they can also turn down your application should they feel that you are not a driver the fits their expectations.

When renting a car, you should have both your driver’s license and credit card ready. Without these two important documents, you can’t possibly rent a car. Some rental companies grant cars to people 21 years old and above. So if you’re only 18, you might find it hard to locate a car rental company that would release a car to you. Better ask an adult to hire a car for you instead. Credit cards are normally used to pay for the rental fee. So you have to be sure that you have more than enough credit or funds in your card.

Good drivers are very much favored by car rental companies. This means that if you have an impeccable driving background with no accident records, then the car you want may just be released to you in almost an instant. For others, the car rental company may necessitate that you hire their driver as well for your safety and the safety of their car.

In most states, driving with car insurance is mandatory. Oftentimes, the car rental company would take care of this detail. In cases that they don’t, you might have to get yourself one or purchase an insurance plan from the car rental company itself. Some companies charge for insurance separately. It is best that you ask about this detail before rushing off to the car rental agency and avail of a car.

Most rental companies have a wide range of vehicles to choose from. There are luxury vehicles, limousines, trucks, and sedans. For cars that have a high demand rate, you might need to schedule ahead. This is especially true for limousines and other luxury vehicles. If you intend to use these cars for a special occasion, try calling the company weeks before the event to ensure that the car you want is available.

Also, try to test all car rental companies near you and evaluate each of them. Once you have found the one with the best service, stick to them. Be their loyal customer. You might just enjoy discounts in the future should you choose to avail of their service all the time.

Car rental companies are getting stricter with their clientele these days. This is because of the rising cases of abandoned cars and unreturned vehicles. You just have to foster some trust with the company. This way, you will be able to enjoy the services of a reputable car rental company for long years to come, all to your advantage. And even if you’ll use the services of these companies sparingly, it is still best that you become a reliable customer at all times.

by Joyce M. Stuart

The idea of electric cars has not been developed recently, and in fact successful electric vehicles were being developed and manufactured back in the 1830s, with projects in the Netherlands, and in Scotland, achieving great success, with vehicles reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour. Mostly popular with ladies, the typical town vehicle was clean, quiet, needed no cranking to get started, and cruised at a comfortable 20 miles an hour. The gas powered cars were being outsold quite dramatically.

Today the average person may still think of electric cars as being either a very new idea which may or may not catch on, or imagine that all electric cars are like milk floats or golf carts - rickety old vehicles which are so slow that the average child on a scooter can beat them into town. However, with cars like the Tesla Roadster overtaking a Mercedes SL550 with comfort, and leaving the poor old gas guzzling Ferrari Spider standing at the lights wondering what happened, popular opinion and understanding is changing. With a top speed of 130 miles per hour and a round trip of 250 miles easily manageable on a three hour charge, this is hardly a golf cart.

It is easy to assume that the single most important advantage from using electric powered vehicles is the reduction of pollution to the environment through the burning of fossil fuels, but another advantage is the reduction of noise pollution, all too often forgotten. Our urban life reverberates to the hum and growl of hundreds of gas powered vehicles, and we have come to accept this. However, electric cars have the capability of eliminating almost all of the noise associated with cars, and this can only be an advantage. Some people have speculated that silent, or virtually silent vehicles may prove hazardous to those who may not be as aware of oncoming traffic when crossing roads, such as children or the elderly.

It isn’t only the fact that those who buy and use electric powered vehicles can sleep easy at night knowing that they are doing their bit for the environment. To really be appealing to the average consumer it has to make financial sense as well as environmental sense, and in this regard electric vehicles can score very highly. For example, for a mere fraction of the cost of the average car you can purchase a G-Wiz, which sits snugly in the lowest bracket for road insurance, and is also exempt from road tax. With two hundred recharging stations across the UK, keeping it running is easy, and if you live in London there’s a huge advantage because you are allowed to park for free, as well as being exempt from the congestion charges. This alone can represent a saving of over 5,000 per year, which is more than the cost of the car!

On a larger scale, Israel has launched a scheme called Project Better Place and it is the intention of this scheme to make Israel completely oil free within just ten years. With half a million re-charging points across the country, and with top distances for vehicles between charges reaching two hundred kilometres - easily enough to travel from any point of Israel to any other within the country, this is a practical reality. The model being put forward is not unlike that for mobile phones, with the suggestion that the vehicles are given away free, and that instead of paying for fuel and tax in the normal way, drivers can choose various plans, such as pay-as-you-go options for recharging costs, to buying credit for unlimited mileage for a certain period of time, and so on.

As with any new development, the ultimate success relies heavily on consumer demand, and companies piloting electric vehicle schemes are trying hard to win that consumer demand and interest. With electric vehicles being showcased in Hollywood, such as the Lexus driven by Tom Cruise in Minority Report, people are starting to realise that the future isn’t a world full of milk floats, but of slick and powerful cars that anyone would be proud to drive. With the US home to nearly eight million electric vehicles, consumer demand is very much a voice loud enough to have caught the ears of politicians.

Many people have raised concerns regarding the apparent green option which electric vehicles represent, citing the fact that they still need to be charged, and that this electricity comes from power companies burning fossil fuels. This is not entirely true, as there are an increasing number of companies and facilities generating green energy, either partly or in full. However, even if the power does come from burning fossil fuels, there is still an advantage, since it’s all about the conversion ratio of fuel to energy. Burning fossil fuel in a car is highly inefficient, whereas using fossil fuel to generate electricity which is used for electric vehicles is a far more efficient use of that energy, and therefore will result in far less fossil fuel being required.

Perhaps it is becoming increasingly easy to picture a world in which we can glide around quietly and serenely, with no smog or fumes choking our streets, no noise roaring through our urban spaces, and no need for concern when stuck in traffic that fuel is being wasted. Although fears have been raised that when we all return home for work and plug our cars in for the night we’ll overload the mains grid, these too have been quashed, with energy companies pointing out that only a fraction of capacity is reached at night, and with all of us switching to electric cars the overall need for energy will be massively reduced. Perhaps we can even envisage a day when our cars are recharged from the energy our own solar panel roofs collect through the day whilst we are at work - a recipe for a virtually clear conscience.
