Oh no there wasn’t. The Shootout was won with tandem drafting and a lot of passes in that race and this one were via the two-car superdraft. Pack racing cannot keep up with a superdraft.
NASCAR needs to go back to the 2011 rules package and let them superdraft all race – they didn’t have much passing when they had to breathe the cars instead of race.

@piman030104010 The two car draft IS practically gone! NASCAR did it’s job! If you’ve watched any of the duels or the Bud Shootout you’d realize that there’s been almost ONLY pack racing!
I watched Robert Richardson in this race. If he would have been able to hang on to the lead pack and not go a lap down early, he would’ve had a legitimate shot to make the Daytona 500.
